Video Explanation

In Plain Language:

An epidural injection is a procedure performed by a provider where a needle is placed into the space outside of the sac of fluid that surrounds the spinal cord and nerves in the lower back within the backbone or spine (epidural space). X-rays are sometimes used to guide the needle safely and efficiently to ensure that the injection (steroid, anesthetic, blood) can be administered safely with minimal risk.
