Our Founders

The co-founders of Mediphany are physicians who specialize in the field of Radiology and have trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. Using their elite knowledge, they and their team of experts are greatly enhancing the way radiology results are given to usher in a new era of clear and complete patient understanding.

Just like our founders, the Mediphany team is made up of highly trained individuals in the field of radiology that have additional specialized training in both personalized video reports and explaining radiology results in a way that a patient can truly understand. Mediphany creators undergo a rigorous selection process to ensure they will provide the highest quality to all patients.

Dr. Josh Polster

Dr. Josh Polster is a musculoskeletal radiologist specializing in imaging of joints, muscles and bones and Vice Chairman of the Imaging Office of Innovations in the Imaging Institute of Cleveland Clinic. He is also an Associate Professor in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. His diagnostic radiology residency training was at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and his fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology was done at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Evan Mason

Dr. Evan Mason is a neuroradiologist in private practice specializing in imaging of the brain and spine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Cleveland Clinic followed by a neuroradiology fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis.

The Mediphany Story

During their careers, Josh and Evan noticed one recurring problem. Patients were coming in for image-guided procedures with virtually no understanding of their current condition! Instead, they were either confused by their radiology reports or, even worse, had never even seen their images.

Josh and Evan attributed this to the fact that radiology reports are typically created for communication between doctors and not for patients. Patients have difficulty understanding their reports due to medical jargon, complexity, and the need to rely on text to decipher imaging findings.

This got the two founders thinking – “how can we find a better way to explain imaging results to patients and bring a level of understanding that would provide them with more control over their medical care?” The result was Mediphany – a company designed to provide patients with a complete understanding of their imaging through personalized MRI reading services.
