Unfortunately, no, our service is educational and intended to help people understand the jargon-filled reports that they have received using the power of video, comparisons to normal examples and other visual aides.
We do not provide independent medical opinions. We have found that most people that ask for a second opinion really just want to understand what has been diagnosed and find it very helpful to see with their own eyes what has been diagnosed and the comparisons to normal or abnormal examples that Mediphany provides. But if you truly want a second independent interpretation of your imaging study, then Mediphany cannot provide that. There are other services online that you can use for this purpose.
If you have been given your images on a CD/DVD, but do not have a disc reader on your computer, here are 3 options for getting the images to us:
Option 1:
Take your images to a store that can transfer the images from the disc to either another format or stored in the cloud. Major drugstore chains such as CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart and Walgreens have stores with photo centers. When you bring your disc to a store with a photo center, they can transfer the images to an online storage site (the “Cloud”) that you can access online or to another storage medium that you can use like a USB thumb drive.
Once uploaded to the cloud, you can either download the files from the store’s cloud storage to your personal computer and then upload to Mediphany OR you can email us with the login information to the cloud service and we can put the images into Mediphany’s cloud for you.
a. Price range is around $10-$26 depending on the store.
b. Time to get images can vary significantly
c. For more information, here are links to the services of these stores:
i. CVS: CVS Digital Media Transfer
ii. Rite Aid: VHS to DVD Conversion - CVS Photo
iii. Walmart: DVD Walmart | Digital Media Transfer
iv. Walgreens: Home Movie & Print Digitization | Walgreens Photo
Option 2:
Buy an external DVD drive and upload the files either directly to Mediphany off of the disc or save to your computer first and then upload to Mediphany.
a. There is a wide range of prices but a simple external DVD player for a laptop computer can sell for as little as $15
Option 3:
If a friend, colleague, or family member has a computer or laptop with a CD drive then this can also be used, all you will need is an internet connection to upload your files via the Mediphany login once you have copied the files across.
Yes. You will be able to view and share your video report from your mobile device.
